Sunday June 1, 2008 Dinner in Edmonton!
Welcome party for Jean-Philippe Ranger from Newfoundland and Xavier Santiago from Puerto Rico. These two gentlemen seized the opportunity of Master Chen Zhonghua's short stay in his home of Edmonton for a 2-week visit. They are doing an full-time intensive with the master during their visit from May 22 to June 7th.
They are also going to participate in Master Chen's workshop in Maple Ridge the first weekend of June.

Jean-Philippe Ranger is a disciple of Master Kee Hong of Ottawa. He spent most of his Chen Taiji learning years in Ottawa. He has attended most of Master Chen's workshops in Ottawa and was in Atlanta twice, and also in Cadecasu, Calgary at the third Hunyuan World Seminars. He currently lives in Consumption Bay, Newfoudland. Jean-Phillipe holds a Ph.D degree in philosophy.

Xavier Santiago is a student of taiji with the Puerto Rico group under Raul Pujol. He has attended Master Chen Zhonghua's workshops in Atlanta and in Fairfield, Iowa. He finished a degree in Chinese medicine and practiced for a few years. Currently he is working on a degree in western medicine in Puerto Rico.

A group from Edmonton's branch of Hunyuantaiji Academy met in Master Chen's home
to partake of a feast in honour of our two visiting guests. The food was
delicious, varied and the people attending got to know members from other class
nights. Master Chen and his wife Jean ensured that we were all properly looked
after and Jeff Sabo helped with the BBQ cooking. Thanks to all who made this a
memorable evening and to J.P. and Xavier for being in Edmonton and allowing us
to honour them and have an excellent excuse for a get together!
